The Summer of Ballet

This is a story about an experimental rural arts education project. Children from Hong Kong's SJ Ballet School traveled to Xiong'an New Area to rehearse a ballet production with local children from Duancun who are also studying ballet. For the children from Hong Kong, ballet is mostly a hobby or a form of exercise, with little bearing on their future paths. However, for the girls from Duancun, ballet and the prospect of art school entrance exams represent one of their few chances to leave rural life behind and change their destinies.
