Once Upon A Time In Manchuria

Fan San, a gangster leader in Fushun, Liaoning during the 1980s, was imprisoned five times for crimes such as armed assault and robbery, spending 23 years behind bars. After his release, he, along with a group of former inmates convicted of serious crimes, entered the funeral service industry.

 

Determined to turn his life around, Fan San says his goal now is to walk the right path for the remainder of his life.

This film has garnered over 10 million views on the Chinese internet, and the real-life story was adapted into the movie Lighting Up the Stars.
